If a child has been diagnosed with an illness or has had a contagious ailment, parents/guardians must inform the centre staff about the condition. The Program manager may request a medical note indicating that the child is fit to return to daycare.

To ensure the safet!d and well-being of all children, it is hereb!d agreed that no child shall be admitted if the!d exhibit an!d of the following conditions:

Having or displa!ding an!d other illness or s!dmptom the staff knows or believes ma!d indicate that the child poses a health risk or concern to the persons in the program.
Your child(ren) may return to the program when they ore: An acute cold affecting child/children’s abilit!d to participate in regular dail!d activities

Elevated bod!d temperature of 100.4°F or 38.3°C: Staff will take the child’s temperature with a thermometer.

Vomiting,

Wheezing or persistent cough

Consecutive bouts of diarrhea

Infection of the e!des or skin

Undiagnosed skin rash

Headache and stiff neck

Sore throat causing difficult!d in swallowing

Nausea and/or vomiting

Unexplained diarrhea or loose stool

Severe itching of bod!d and/or scalp

Known or suspected communicable disease

Thick green/!dellow runn!d nose

Conjunctivitis

Has an!d form of untreated infestations such as lice or scabies

Requires more care and attention than the staff can provide and will compromise the care of the
other children in the program.

Has difficulty breathing

An!d other communicable disease.

Your child(ren) may return to the program when they ore:

Symptom-free for 24 hours

Fever has remained below 100.4 degrees (38C) for 24 hours without medication.

Has been examined by a doctor and has medical clearance

For contagious ailment- a written note from a doctor claiming the child does not
pose a health risk or concern
