Pacesetters Early Learning and Childcare Centre runs different enriching programs throughout the year. The Centre is licenced for Child Care with extended hours and weekends, Preschool, and Out-of-School Care programs. We also offer Summer Camps during the long school holidays from the end of June to the end of August. The Child Care runs from Monday – Friday 6 am to 6 pm. Parents who want extended hours and weekends are encouraged to contact us and register for extended care and weekend care. We provide breakfast and snacks for the children. Parents provide lunch as parents know the foods their children enjoy and would surely eat for lunch; this prevents children from not eating given lunch and waste of food in the Centre. Peradventure, a parent, cannot pack lunch for their child any day; they can order lunch from the Café in Fort City Play world for the child.

Our Centre is located inside the Fort City Play World on the top floor. Our kids have access to the indoor playground twice a day; in the morning after drop off and in the afternoon from 3 pm to 4 pm for the Out-of-School Care program children. Children must have a pair of socks on to play in the indoor playground as this is a requirement from the AHS. And all children must have a pair of indoor shoes to wear indoors at the Centre; this is required for when there is an emergency, and we have to quickly exit through the back doors with the children or when we have fire drills. Children’s boots or outdoor shoes are left on shoe racks at the entrance, and we would not be able to get to them during emergency exits. We appreciate all parents as they help us meet these requirements.

Our Child Care program and Out-of-School Care program accept daily drop-ins. Parents are advised to please provide a pair of socks and indoor shoes for their children when dropping them off for the day. This also applies to weekend care or any other special programs we have running. We also have an outdoor playground where we take the children to play to have some fresh air. Children are engaged in free play, planned play activities, or chosen activities, like soccer, basketball, water play, sandbox play, swinging and sliding, etc.

For our children’s safety, there are child safety gates installed at the entrance to the indoor playground and the entrance upstairs into the hallway of the classrooms to prevent children from wandering off. And there are cameras installed in the playground and classrooms for extra security and Altima care of children. Children and staff are always in ratio for ultimate care and supervision of children. Our programs are staffed by fully qualified, professionally trained personnel. All of our staff currently hold or are in the process of completing their Early Childhood Certificate, Education Assistant Certificate or Early Childhood Diploma.

All staff working in the program hold the following certifications: Alberta Childcare Certification, CPR and First Aid, and a current Criminal Record Check.
